Luka Modrić is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of his generation. After rising through the ranks at Dinamo Zagreb, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008, before joining Real Madrid in 2012. With Madrid, he has won six UEFA Champions League titles and four La Liga titles. His influence on Real Madrid is so great that individually he won the Ballon D’or in 2018, breaking the decade long Messi and Ronaldo dominance in this award. At international level Modric was instrumental in getting Croatia to the 2018 World Cup final and picked up the golden ball as the tournaments best player.
