Carvalho has won titles in 3 different countries and has won a European Championship at International level with Portugal. It was his time in Porto that will no doubt be Carvalho’s finest moment where against all odds FC Porto won the Champions League in 2004 against AS Monaco. His contribution to this triumph was highly noted as a UEFA Defender of the Year and Team of the Year trophies followed as did the courtship of English side Chelsea, where Carvalho eventually joined that summer.
